If you have been following what is happening in India, you might be left with the impression that this huge nation will soon become closed to the gospel. The most powerful political party is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which regards Islam and Christianity as political and spiritual threats.

The door is not closed, nor will it ever be. Efforts to get gospel workers trained in discipleship still happen, though they must be discreet. There have been recent meetings to train Indian missionaries. These brave men and women have the freedom to go wherever there is a need in India. There is a recent report of workers going to 35 villages. Decisions are made by groups, especially their leaders. All but three of these villages accepted that they need to put their faith in Jesus Christ.

Gospel workers are also preparing for the future by developing an app. This app provides both evangelism and discipleship materials in various Indian languages. That now includes Hindi, the largest language in the Subcontinent. The only way for the Indian government to stop people from having apps on their private phones will be to have the police do personal checks as they do in China.
