Arise, Intercessors, And Pray For Ukraine!

President Putin of Russia is dragging his country into a war against Ukraine that is shocking the world. He has become a Pariah to even some of his own countrymen. In his endeavor to recreate the former USSR, his evil schemes against innocent Ukraine are back-firing in public opinion around the world. Many are claiming that Putin, who has isolated himself from others – including advisors – is mentally unstable. His ridiculous claims that Nazis are controlling Ukraine’s government have shocked the world with their absurdities and have even riled up the Russian populace who are savvy enough not to fall for his ridiculous claims.

One Ukrainian, pastor in one of the cities, wrote this several days ago: ” Please tell your people, because of their prayers, God really fights our battles. The rockets disappear in the air without reaching our homes and no one knows where

they go. enemy tanks run out of fuel, Russian troops get lost and ask our locals for food and for directions – that is definitely God because we are dealing with the second strongest army in the world. And this morning Kyiv and other major cities are still free and we in Lviv did not have to run to the basements.”

Another pastor writes: “I have to change all my phone numbers and everything and switch my work and ministry from official to an underground one. Today I was told I am a mark on the Russian KGB list of those who need to be arrested or killed firsthand. We believe it takes 3-5 days for the Russian KGB to come after the regular army and start their search for such people. We know the trucks filled with special forces are gone from Crimea and they are heading to us right now. It’s the third day of the invasion and I think I have one more day or even less to dive into a different life. I am not a trained spy so don’t know how to do so. Plus, I plan to be with the church for our people are highly in need of non-stop service and it was my decision to stay, and I would repeat it once again.

Common everyday Ukrainians are becoming martyrs! Intercessors, Please lift up these prayers daily for the Ukrainian people and their country. Prayer reaches the throne of God!

Let us pray fervently for:

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack for nothing.

Thank you God that even though there are many reasons to feel afraid and anxious, You are still the Good Shepherd for Christian Believers in Ukraine. You know them by name and love them deeply. You walk beside them through this very tense time. We ask You to lead them to green pastures and still waters in the midst of the trauma of war. Thank you that you are a Shepherd that laid down Your life in order that we all can find salvation in You.

Psalm 139:12 Even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

Heavenly Father, we declare Your light into the darkness today. We speak out Your light into Ukraine, and into Russia. We speak out Your light into the lives of those who love and follow You.  We speak out Your light into the lives of those who don’t know You. We speak Your light into the lives of the presidents and military leaders. Jesus, You are the light of the world; we fix our eyes on You; in You we find hope.

Proverbs 3:12 In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

We pray, in Jesus’ Name, that President Putin will submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  We declare that the whole world and everyone in it belongs to God. We declare that it is the Lord who puts leaders into place and the Lord who can remove them from power. We pray that all of the leaders and authorities of the nations of the world will today submit to God, and we ask You, Jesus, to make Your paths known to them. Bless them with Your wisdom and Your resolutions today. Amen!

Isaiah 55:7 Let the wicked turn to the Lord, and He will have mercy on them.

Dear God, we acknowledge that our world is very broken, and without You, it can’t be fixed. Today I confess my sins to You, and ask for Your forgiveness.  I pray today that You will also bring a holy conviction of sin upon the lives of those who are war-mongering. I ask that Your Holy Spirit will fall on the them, and that You will reveal Yourself as the Mighty Lion of Judah, and that they will confess their sins and turn to You and find mercy.

John 11:33,35 When Jesus saw her weeping… He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled… Jesus wept.

Jesus knows what it means to cry with grief. Thank you that You see, and care for, those who are mourning the deaths of loved ones, both in Ukraine and Russia. You are outraged by human suffering, and You teach us to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. Today I pray that You will pour out Your comfort on those who mourn. I pray that You will draw them near to You at this time. I ask You to reveal who You are to them right now, so that they may know that You are their Saviour, Healer and Comforter.

In Revelation 22:20, Jesus says. ”Surely I am coming soon. “ Amen. Come Lord Jesus!
