EGYPT: Smoking is not allowed in any form inside health and education buildings, government offices, sports and social clubs, youth centers, and other places decided by the Minister of Health. The law requires the managers of these facilities to make sure the ban is followed and to take steps to prevent smoking. If managers do not follow this rule, they can be fined between 1,000 and 20,000 Egyptian pounds. Individuals who are caught smoking can face fines between 50 and 100 Egyptian pounds.
- Lord, we pray that this law will be honored and enforced with wisdom and integrity. Grant leaders the discipline and courage to uphold what protects life and health. May this policy reduce harm and promote well-being, especially for children and the vulnerable (The Holy Bible, Romans 13:1).
- Father, we lift up individuals struggling with smoking. Grant them strength, self-control, and healing. May this law become an opportunity for positive change, freedom from addiction, and healthier lives (The Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 6:19).
