A youth-led workshop called “Breaking Barriers, Designing Equality” was held to discuss gender equality. Young people shared ideas and created messages to help bring change. They said harmful social norms stop women from growing in education and work. Issues like child marriage, domestic violence, and gender-based violence were often mentioned. Lack of economic power and limited say in decisions also hold women back. The youth said laws alone are not enough to fix these issues. People must also stop accepting harmful traditions and beliefs. Changing social norms is very important to make real progress. Bangladesh still has a lot of work to do for true gender equality.
Abba Father, help us treat everyone with fairness and respect, no matter their gender. Lord, give our youth the strength to raise their voices for what is right (The Bible, Galatians 3:28).
Lord, change the hearts of people so they no longer follow harmful traditions (The Bible, Romans 12:2).
