Sudan remains trapped in a devastating civil war that began in April 2023 between rival military factions—forces loyal to General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and those backing Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti). Over two years, the conflict has killed more than 150,000 people and displaced over 12 million, with cities like Khartoum left in ruins. Civilians are caught in the crossfire, facing hunger, disease, and lack of basic services. Neither side has secured a decisive military victory, resulting in a prolonged stalemate. Peace efforts remain stalled due to deep political divisions and mistrust. However, growing international pressure and internal exhaustion may offer a small window for dialogue and ceasefire, as the humanitarian crisis continues to escalate with no clear resolution in sight.
Almighty GOD, break the chains of bitterness, hatred, and pride from the hearts of the warring parties in Sudan. Fill their hearts with love and a desire for reconciliation and peace (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 32:17).
Father GOD, we plead for the millions affected by the war in Sudan, especially the displaced people who are now without homes, food, or medical care. Shelter them under Your wings and provide them with the resources and compassion they desperately need (The Holy Bible, Matthew 6:25-34).
