The Persians, predominantly residing in Iran and found in Iraq, Syria, and Turkey, represent the second-largest unreached people group (UPG) in the Middle East’s 10/40 Window. With a regional population of over 39 million, only 0.98% identify as Christian, reflecting the strong Islamic stronghold within Persian society. Islam, specifically Shia, has been deeply rooted in their culture since the sixteenth century, following earlier Zoroastrian traditions. Persian society is patriarchal, with men dominating both the family and political spheres. Religious persecution is intense, evangelism is illegal, and conversions to Christianity are met with severe punishment, including death. Despite these challenges, resources like the complete Bible, the ‘JESUS’ film, and other multimedia tools are available in Persian. Due to ongoing persecution, many Persians have fled Iran, yet the group remains largely unreached, with Christianity facing immense resistance from deeply entrenched Islamic beliefs and government restrictions.

Pray that the LORD would meet the Persians in supernatural ways where missionaries cannot go (The Holy Bible, Luke 1:37)

Pray for a spiritual hunger among the Persians that will result in a great movement to Christ in the region (The Holy Bible, John 4:14)

Pray for a way for the Persian believers to meet openly. Pray for religious freedom in their homeland and their host countries as well. – (The Holy Bible, Acts 5:12)
