Syria’s prolonged civil war has triggered a profound humanitarian crisis. Approximately 90% of Syrians live below the poverty line, with 66% experiencing extreme poverty—a stark increase from pre-conflict levels of 33% and 11%, respectively. The war has caused the death of close to 618,000 people and 113,000 gone missing. More than half the population is displaced, making up 7.2 million internally displaced and 6 million refugees. In addition, 52% of the population is under food insecurity, and 80% of the energy capacity of the country has been lost, with 70% of power stations destroyed. Reconstruction is hindered by serious funding shortages. The situation is still dire, highlighting the need for substantial international support and investment to deal with Syria’s complex crises.

Almighty GOD, You are the GOD of Restoration. We plead Your divine intervention in the desolate land of Syria. Breathe Your Life once again into this land and rebuild the lives and livelihoods of all the Syrians (The Holy Bible, Joel 2:25).

Pray for the LORD to bless the resources and financial support needed to rebuild the damaged infrastructure and to restore essential services in Syria. Pray for the LORD to strengthen the Syrians for this good work (The Holy Bible, Deuteronomy 28:12).
