Kim Shin-jo, the sole captured member of a 1968 North Korean commando group dispatched to kill South Korean President Park Chung-hee, passed away on 09th April’2025 at 82. Kim and his team entered Seoul in January 1968 but were halted after an intense gunfight near the Blue House. Most of the commandos were killed, and Kim surrendered. He later became a staunch anti-Communist lecturer and Christian pastor in South Korea. Kim became a Christian after meeting his wife, who introduced him to faith in Christ. Upon his release, he traveled throughout the country, publicizing his defection and condemning North Korea. His death marks the end of a significant chapter in Cold War-era Korean history.

Pray for lasting peace between North Korea and South Korea. Pray for the Holy Spirit of GOD to soften the hearts and minds of the leaders in the Korean Peninsula toward reconciliation and unity (The Holy Bible, Psalm 133:1).

Praise GOD for the life of Kim Shin-jo and other North Korean Christians. Pray that the testimony of faith and transformation of the believers will inspire many toward Christ, the Savior, throughout the Korean Peninsula (The Holy Bible, Revelation 12:11).
