On April 20, 2025, Sikyong Penpa Tsering visited the Kamrao Tibetan settlement as part of his recent official tour, receiving a warm welcome from community members, including the Tibetan Settlement Officer. He began his official activities in the settlement by touring several important institutions and offices, such as Ga Kye Gu Monastery (Sa Ngor Tse Chen Samdrub Ling Monastery), the auditorium of the Local Tibetan Assembly, the Tibetan Primary Health Centre, and the Himalayan Tibetan Public School.

Later that day, Sikyong gathered the general Tibetan public to discuss significant issues related to land leased by the state government and the initiatives of the 16th Kashag. He stressed the importance of the sustainability of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) for the ongoing Tibetan struggle, highlighting the need for a strong connection between the Tibetan people and the administration. He also raised concerns about the declining populations in Tibetan settlements, which have resulted in a significant drop in school and monastic enrollments.

  • Lord, we pray for the leaders of Tibet and China; may wisdom, compassion, and willingness to engage in dialogue help them mutually find a beneficial solution. Pray for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedom of all people in Tibet and China (The Holy Bible, Matthew 5:9).
  • Lord, we pray for increased understanding and empathy between the Tibetan and Chinese communities. May there be an end to all the suffering caused by the conflict and for healing of the wounds (The Holy Bible, Romans 12:18).
