Ongoing sanctions by the U.S., EU, UK, and other nations are significantly hindering Syria’s post-conflict recovery. Despite the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government, sanctions remain in place without clear criteria for removal, deepening the humanitarian crisis. Over 90% of Syrian families now live below the poverty line, and more than 13 million people face food insecurity. The healthcare system is critically damaged, with more than half of the hospitals non-functional, while education and infrastructure are also in poor shape. Calls are growing for Western governments to lift sanctions that obstruct access to essential services such as water, healthcare, and education. With Syria requiring over $250 billion for reconstruction, sanctions are increasingly viewed as a major barrier to rebuilding and alleviating widespread suffering.

Pray for the Holy Spirit of GOD to stir the hearts of international leaders to lift sanctions that hinder the flow of humanitarian aid in Syria. Pray for the resources to reach those in desperate need in Syria (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:13).

Almighty GOD, we pray for Your divine healing and restoration of cities, hospitals, schools, and communities in Syria. Raise up skilled workers, and give them the needed resources to rebuild the nation (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 61:4).
