South Sudan is facing a catastrophic food insecurity crisis, exacerbated by ongoing conflict and displacement. Over 1.1 million people, many fleeing violence in Sudan, are displaced, with nearly half of those experiencing severe hunger being returnees. The pre-harvest lean season has worsened conditions, leaving many with limited resources. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) reports that over 450,000 people urgently require food assistance, but active fighting has hindered aid distribution. South Sudan, still recovering from the 2013-2018 civil war, faces a fragile peace and ongoing instability, making it difficult to address the widespread hunger and resource shortages. The international community is being urged to increase support to avert further suffering.
Pray for the LORD’s intervention in South Sudan to end violence and bring stability to the nation. Pray for open doors for aid workers to deliver essential services to those in need without hindrance (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:9).
Pray for divine provision for the millions of people facing a severe hunger crisis in South Sudan. Pray for refuge, food, clean drinking water, healthcare, etc., for all the people in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 57:1).
