Eritrean Christians, particularly Evangelicals and Protestants, experience extreme persecution in Eritrea, as they are the only churches not officially recognized. Thousands of church members, including pastors such as Paulos, are imprisoned in torturous conditions within underground cells or shipping containers out in the desert, where it is extremely hot, cold, and dark, often resulting in death. Despite this persecution, the Body of Christ in Eritrea is still thriving. Paulos, an Evangelical elder, constantly escapes arrest, living in fear as authorities target unsanctioned Christians. Despite family and societal pressures, Paulos and others remain steadfast in their faith, witnessing the Gospel’s growth even amid intense oppression and persecution.

Praise GOD for the growing number of Christians in Eritrea. Pray for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit of GOD among the leaders in Eritrea, that they may surrender their lives to the Truth. Pray for more freedom of religion in the country (The Holy Bible, Daniel 6:26-27).

Pray for divine protection upon all Eritrean believers. Pray for safe shelter for believers like Paulos who are targeted for their faith by the authorities. Pray for the immediate release of all believers imprisoned for their faith (The Holy Bible, Psalm 32:7).
