Western Sahara: Ms. Shaba Seini, the Secretary-General of the National Union of Sahrawi Women (NUSW), took part in a conference focused on the status of women in Africa.
During her speech at the virtual event, she highlighted the circumstances faced by Sahrawi women, both in the Sahrawi refugee camps and in the occupied regions of Western Sahara.
She urged all attendees to support Sahrawi women and advocate for their rights in their own countries. Furthermore, she invited them to visit the occupied areas of Western Sahara to observe the ongoing human rights abuses against Sahrawi women, which are often overlooked due to a media blackout. She also encouraged them to tour the Sahrawi refugee camps to witness the significant role of Sahrawi women in establishing the institutions of the Sahrawi state and to recognize their valuable contributions across social, economic, political, and cultural domains.
- Lord, we pray for women in Western Sahara, for their physical health, emotional healing, and resilience in the face of hardship. Pray for resources and support to be available to help those who are suffering, especially women and children (The Holy Bible, Psalms 139:1).
- Lord, we pray that the Saharawi people would see Jesus Christ as their Prince of Peace and find refuge in Him (The Holy Bible, 2 Timothy 1:7).
