Myanmar: Hundreds of political prisoners held at Magway Prison in central Myanmar have been denied medical care following beatings and torture by prison officials. On April 13, violence broke out outside the prison when members of a local resistance group launched an attack on junta soldiers present there. Two political prisoners lost their lives during the confrontation, and at least five others were injured. In the aftermath, other political detainees were accused of aiding the resistance fighters in their assault, leading to approximately 400 prisoners being subjected to beatings and torture, with several sustaining gunshot injuries.
- Pray that God will intervene to bring about the freedom and safety of the political prisoners and restore peace to the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalms 121:7).
- Pray that God will uphold justice for the political prisoners and their families. Ask for the swift release of those unjustly imprisoned. Pray for the families of the political prisoners, who are also suffering. Pray for their strength and support during this challenging time (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 18:10).
