Music Makers Hold the Key to Iranian Hearts

Last month we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. Did you know that one of the primary ways he won Ireland to Christ in 15 years was through music? Music is the language of the heart. That was especially true for the Irish in the 5th Century, and for the Iranians in the 21st century!

One way the Muslim theocracy paved the way for the gospel to spread throughout Iran was by trying to restrain music. Going along with the government-imposed spirituality means little or no music for a people who have a passion for music. By contrast, underground churches were alive with joyous praise songs to the King of kings.

In recent years, the Lord has raised up Gilbert Hovsepian, a worship songwriter. He is writing praise music that is not translated from other languages. He writes them in Farsi, Iran’s primary language. The Iranian church takes ownership of worship music that is uniquely it’s own. Let’s pray together to see worship spread throughout Iran.

Let us pray fervently for:

  • For Iranian believers to faithfully make a joyful noise to the Lord (The Bible, Psalm 98:4).
  • For Muslims to be attracted to the Lord and give Him praise from the heart (The Bible, Psalm 100:1).
  • For the Lord to direct and protect Gilbert Hovsepian (The Bible, Psalm 91:9-10).
