Morocco faces a critical education crisis, with nearly 280,000 students dropping out annually and 160,000 from middle schools alone. Education Minister Mohamed Saad Berrada aims to cut this number by half, focusing on “second chance schools” offering vocational training and reintegration opportunities. Initiatives include leadership colleges, psychological support units using Massar platform data, and expanded rural support, like transport and canteens. Despite earlier efforts that saw a 12% dropout reduction from 2021 to 2023, the issue persists. In 2022/2023, 294,458 students left school, with 62% over age 16. Only 50,448 were reintegrated, while over 230,000 remained out of the system, reflecting a severe loss of human capital.

Pray for the success of all the efforts of the government to rejuvenate the education system and to curb the increasing number of school dropouts in Morocco. Pray for an improved education system in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 127:4).

Pray for the school dropout children in Morocco to utilize the reintegration programs to continue their education. Pray for all the children in the country to have access to quality education (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:11).
