Women’s rights in Saudi Arabia have seen some progress through limited reforms, but significant barriers remain. Strict dress codes, limited freedom of expression, and ongoing discrimination persist. Women advocating for gender equality, like Manahel al-Otaibi, face arrest and harsh repression. Manahel, sentenced to 11 years for promoting women’s rights, has been forcibly disappeared for nearly two months. Last contacted in December 2024, her family’s efforts to locate her have failed, raising fears for her safety. Previously tortured and medically neglected, Manahel’s health continues to deteriorate.
Almighty GOD, bring justice to those who are silenced and persecuted in Saudi Arabia. Let Your Truth and Righteousness prevail in the country (The Holy Bible, Amos 5:24).
LORD, deliver those who are unjustly imprisoned and suffering for standing up for their rights in Saudi Arabia, including Manahel al-Otaibi. Reveal her whereabouts and protect her from all evil (The Holy Bible, Job 36:15).
Father GOD, we pray for Your divine protection and healing for all the victims of gender-based violence in Saudi Arabia. LORD, wipe away the tears of Your daughters in this nation and heal their hearts and minds (The Holy Bible, Psalm 56:8).
