Israel is experiencing a serious political crisis marked by internal divisions and mounting international pressure. Netanyahu’s far-right majority government, which includes such figures as Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, is being more and more challenged nationally and internationally. Ex-political leaders like Ehud Olmert have publicly disowned the government in Gaza, and Olmert has accused Netanyahu of war crimes and labeled today’s regime as the “enemy from within.” This internal opposition is supplemented by external condemnation, as Israel’s Western allies are disturbed by Israel’s military actions and the conditions for humanitarians in Gaza. The hardline stance of the government has also caused intercoalition defectors, further eroding Netanyahu’s grip on power. As political instability continues, the fate of Israeli leadership is now in the balance.
Pray for unity and oneness among the leaders in Israel to find a peaceful solution to end the war. Pray for political stability in the country (The Holy Bible, Job 12:13).
Pray for the safe return of the remaining Israeli hostages. Pray for the LORD’s comfort and provision for all the families awaiting the hostages’ return and for the families mourning for their loved ones (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 54:10).
