On March 3, 2025, Moroccan activist Fouad Abdelmoumni was sentenced to six months in prison and fined for a Facebook post criticizing Moroccan – French relations during French President Macron’s state visit. The charges stemmed from allegations of insulting public authorities and spreading false information. Abdelmoumni, a human rights advocate and critic of the government, has faced years of harassment, including surveillance and invasion of privacy. His conviction is part of a broader crackdown on free speech, with many journalists and activists detained for peaceful expression.

Pray for the immediate and unconditional release of the imprisoned journalists and activists, including Fouad Abdelmoumni in Morocco. Pray for more press freedom in the country (The Holy Bible, Job 36:6).

Pray for the end of repression of human rights activists and the press in Morocco. Pray for the civilians as well as rights activists to freely exercise their rights and freedom in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 140:1).
