In Gaza, only 1 in 10 people in Gaza have access to safe drinking water after Israel cut electricity to the region. The power cut shut down a key desalination plant that had provided water to 600000 people. UNICEF warned that Gaza is facing a severe water shortage with 1.8 million Palestinians in urgent need of water, sanitation, and hygiene aid. The lack of water is also affecting food preparation and basic hygiene creating a worsening humanitarian crisis. Israel is violating International Humanitarian law by using humanitarian aid as a weapon by stopping basic needs like food and water says experts and Human rights groups.
- Father, we pray for an open door for clean water food, and medical supplies to reach those in need in Gaza (The Holy Bible, Mathew 25:35).
- Father, we pray for the protection of the vulnerable, especially children and families, and give them strength to endure this crisis (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
