Economic hardships in Western Sahara are deeply tied to the ongoing conflict and territorial dispute. The region remains underdeveloped, and its economy is heavily dependent on the extractive industries, such as phosphates and fishing, which Morocco controls in the areas it occupies. The Sahrawi people, especially those in refugee camps, face severe economic challenges, including high unemployment rates, limited access to resources, and dependency on humanitarian aid. In the occupied territories, human rights abuses, lack of employment opportunities, and restrictions on Sahrawi business and land use exacerbate poverty and stagnation. Additionally, the absence of a definitive resolution to the conflict stifles foreign investment and economic development, perpetuating a cycle of instability and poverty.

Almighty GOD, we pray for a lasting peace and resolution to the conflict in Western Sahara. May justice and reconciliation prevail, bringing an end to the uncertainty in the nation (The Holy Bible, Luke 1:37).

LORD, we pray for economic relief for the people of Western Sahara. We pray for them to have fair access to resources, and opportunities for employment (The Holy Bible, Psalm 67:1).

GOD of Justice, bring justice to the Sahrawi people facing human rights abuses and oppression. We pray for the restoration of their rights and freedom, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 103:6).
