On Visakha Bucha Day 2025, Cambodian Prime Minister Dr. Hun Manet announced that the King has reduced the prison sentences of 296 inmates, including 28 women. Most of them had their sentences shortened by 3 to 12 months. However, four prisoners were not given any clemency because they were found guilty of serious crimes like raping their own children or grandchildren. The government also said they will not reduce sentences for people who committed serious crimes such as drug trafficking, repeated violence, or sexual abuse of children or vulnerable people.

Abba Father, we thank You for the gift of mercy and the pursuit of justice. As Cambodia shows compassion to inmates seeking rehabilitation, we pray for transformed hearts and renewed lives. Help leaders discern wisely, ensuring justice for victims while offering hope for change. May Your truth and grace guide all decisions. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Bible, Micah 6:8).

Lord, we cry out for the innocent and the vulnerable children, the weak, and the abused. Protect them from harm and restore their dignity and peace. Strengthen justice systems to act with integrity and defend those without a voice. Let Your light shine where there is darkness and bring healing where there is pain. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Bible, Psalm 82:3).
