JORDAN: A recent World Health Organization report revealed the severe rehabilitation crisis in the Gaza Strip, where over 172,000 people were injured between October 2023 and April 2026. Around 43,000 suffered life-changing injuries, and nearly 56,000 now need long-term rehabilitation. The report noted more than 5,000 amputations, including many children, while Gaza’s rehabilitation centers remain heavily damaged and lacking equipment and staff. The humanitarian crisis also affects people with chronic illnesses and disabilities amid displacement and limited healthcare access. Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned that ongoing instability is worsening humanitarian conditions. Jordan has continued medical evacuation efforts for injured Palestinians through the “Jordanian Medical Corridor” initiative under King Abdullah II.
Abba Father, bring healing to the wounded, comfort to the suffering, and strength to those facing lifelong injuries. Restore hope where there is pain and despair. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 147:3).
Lord, protect the children affected by war, especially those who have lost limbs or loved ones. Give peace and courage to families enduring hardship and displacement. Amen (The Holy Bible, Matthew 19:14).
