As the world gets ready to observe World No Tobacco Day on May 31, the World Health Organization (WHO) is warning about the rising number of teenagers using tobacco in the Middle East. Jordan has one of the highest teen smoking rates in the world, with 33.9% of teenagers using tobacco. This year’s theme, “Bright Products. Dark Intentions,” focuses on how tobacco companies use sweet flavors and attractive packaging to trick young people into trying harmful products like e-cigarettes and vape pens. WHO says companies are targeting kids and teens to make more money.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we declare that the schemes of the tobacco industry against our youth will not prosper. We speak life, health, and freedom over the next generation. Every lie and manipulation aimed at enslaving children through addiction is broken by the power of God (The Bible, Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, let Your truth shine brighter than any marketing lie. We declare a new era—a tobacco-free future—where health, hope, and holiness prevail. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Bible, Proverbs 22:6).
