Earlier this month, Syria’s Alawite community, particularly in Latakia and Tartus, was subjected to violent retribution following the fall of the Assad regime. Alawite villages, including the town of al-Sanobar, were flooded by Sunni Islamist militants, where over 200 Alawites were murdered. Survivors documented brutal executions, mass killings, and indiscriminate destruction. The assaults were sectarian, and militants employed the term “ethnic cleansing” to call for the Alawite sect members’ expulsion. The Alawite community now lives in fear of fresh assaults and demands international intervention and more assurances of protection from Syria’s new leadership.

Sovereign GOD, we plead for Your divine intervention in Syria to end the bloodshed against the Alawite community. LORD, we bring all the vulnerable people in Syria under the Precious and Powerful Blood of Jesus Christ, Your SON. Surround them with Your peace and comfort (The Holy Bible, 2 Samuel 22:3).

Pray for the international community to take immediate action to end the violence against innocent people in Syria and to ensure that those behind these cruel attacks are held accountable (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 31:8-9).
