Tibet: Chief Justice Commissioner Yeshi Wangmo officially administered the oath of office to three important appointees of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), representing a notable advancement in the judicial and oversight bodies of the Tibetan government in exile. Dawa Phunkyi, a former parliamentarian, and Phagpa Tsering, a former minister, were sworn in as the new Justice Commissioners of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission (TSJC). Additionally, Secretary Tashi Topgyal took on the role of Auditor General of the CTA’s Audit Office.
These appointments, made during the 2025 budget session of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) on March 29 through a secret ballot, aim to reinforce the judicial integrity and financial accountability of the CTA.
- We pray for all the newly elected ministers of the judiciary. We pray for the wisdom of Solomon to inhabit the hearts of all the elected (The Holy Bible, 1 Kings 3:5).
- We pray for the judiciary in Tibet, Lord; put in them the spirit of discernment and the ability to differentiate between good and evil (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 31:9).
