A week ago, Sudan’s military retook Khartoum from the RSF militia in a turning point in the violent war. The city has, however, been devastated by unimaginable brutality, such as extensive looting, destruction of cultural sites, and extreme human suffering. Civilians were subjected to starvation, disease, and terror, with many being killed or sexually violated. Khartoum’s infrastructure was destroyed, and its National Museum was plundered. Although the siege of the city is over, the war rages on elsewhere, with ethnic violence and human crises deepening. Sudan’s future is uncertain, with military factions fighting for control and international assistance still falling short.
Almighty GOD, we pray for the end of the fierce war in Sudan. LORD, we pray for the restoration of hope and the rebuilding of lives for all the Sudanese people (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 38:16).
LORD, we pray for Your protection upon all the innocent civilians in Sudan. Father GOD, break the chains of hatred, suffering, and conflict in the nation. We plead for Your peace and justice to prevail in the country (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 10:12).
