On March 27, 2025, a tourist submarine carrying 45 Russian tourists sank near Hurghada in the Red Sea, resulting in six deaths and injuries to 39 others, with some in critical condition. The Sindbad submarine was designed for underwater tours, offering passengers a view of the Red Sea’s coral reefs. The incident occurred at about one kilometer from the shore of Hurghada. Egyptian authorities are investigating the cause of the incident. There have been other such incidents in the past raising concerns about the safety protocols adhered to by the tourism sector. All passengers on board were Russian passengers.

  • Lord, send Your angels to encamp around all those who travel by sea. Let every plot or evil doing be nullified. Father, keep them safe from every form of harm, in Jesus’ mighty name (The Holy Bible, Psalms 34:7).
  • Lord, we seek peace and harmony in all tourist destinations in Egypt. May this incident be not a hindrance for the industry, but may it bring economic prosperity and opportunities for the locals (The Holy Bible, Psalms 29:11).
