More than 200 civilians have been killed by Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in a surge of attacks around El Fasher and displacement camps in Darfur, including targeted killings of aid workers and ethnic violence. The RSF burned large areas of Zamzam camp and launched coordinated assaults, while the Sudanese army also faced accusations of civilian attacks. Over 100, including 20 children and nine aid workers, are feared dead. The conflict has created one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, displacing over 12 million people. Ahead of a London conference on Sudan, pressure mounts on the UK and the international community to act decisively to protect civilians and address alleged genocide and war crimes.
Pray for a swift end to the violence in Sudan. Pray for the divine protection of civilians, especially children and aid workers in the country. Pray for the 12 million displaced people to have shelter, food, and other basic needs and rights (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 25:4).
Pray for the international authorities to take immediate action to end the violence and bring accountability to those committing war crimes in Sudan. Pray for peace and justice to prevail in the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 37:6).
