Cambodian youth aged 15-19 are found to be addicted to heavy drinking. This is explicitly shown the new report on ‘Cambodia to Combat Harmful Alcohol Consumption’. This shows the alarming rates of heavy episodic drinking (HED) by 25.8% youth. The young people of Cambodia are vulnerable to get into excessive consumption as there is no minimum legal purchasing age (MLPA). There will be serious health issues for people and increase in diseases as the sale of alcohol will double in the next decade. The Cambodian government has to take immediate measures and frame policies to protect the young population from destruction.
Abba Father, we pray for the young people of Cambodia who are at risk of alcohol abuse. Protect them from harm and guide them in making wise choices. May they find strength and purpose in You. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Bible, Proverbs 20:1).
Lord, we ask for wisdom and courage for Cambodia’s leaders to implement policies that protect the vulnerable from alcohol-related harm. Let public health and safety take priority over profit. in Jesus’ name. Amen (The Bible, Proverbs 31:8).
