Last month, South Sudan experienced a sudden escalation of conflict, especially after the arrest of First Vice President Riek Machar. This has raised fears of the nation’s descent into the catastrophic civil war that marred the country in 2013 and 2016. Missionaries who are in South Sudan are bearing the brunt of these increased tensions, and their work has become riskier and more challenging. With all the rising violence, they are still passionately committed, giving essential support such as education, medicine, and spiritual support, demonstrating remarkable resilience and kindness to the people of South Sudan during these uncertain and difficult times.

Pray for divine protection and provision for all the mission workers in South Sudan. Pray that the  LORD’s continuous Presence and comfort strengthen them so they can continue serving with unwavering faith and love towards the South Sudanese people (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 52:7).

Pray for divine peace and justice to prevail in South Suan. Pray for the end of the political uproar in the country (The Holy Bible, 1 Samuel 12:23).
