Djibouti: Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are working in hazardous conditions while overseeing migrants at a military base in Djibouti. The government aimed to deport a group of migrants to conflict-ridden South Sudan, but U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy instructed the government to allow them the opportunity to properly contest their deportations. The judge did not mandate that the migrants remain in Djibouti during the processing of their claims; he simply stated that the government must keep custody and control of them. If the government chooses, it can return them to the U.S. to continue the process there.

  • Lord, we pray for fairness and compassion in the treatment of migrants. May justice prevail as they seek refuge and an opportunity to contest their deportations. Let their voices be heard, and grant them the strength and support they need during this challenging time (The Holy Bible, Psalm 82:3).
  • Lord, we pray for Your protection over the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and the migrants at the military base in Djibouti. Keep them safe from harm and grant wisdom to those in authority as they navigate these complex situations (The Holy Bible, Psalm 9:9).
