Saudi Arabia, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), is spending billions to transform the nation, presenting an image of modernization and economic dominance. Although MBS brought about some reforms, such as lifting the ban on women driving, critics point to severe human rights violations, such as the arrest and torture of activists. Despite the promise made by MBS to cut the use of the death penalty, Saudi Arabia conducted a record number of executions in 2022. Sports and entertainment are used to enhance the nation’s reputation, yet human rights organizations insist on reform and accountability.
Pray for the immediate release of all imprisoned human rights activists in Saudi Arabia. Pray for them to have access to their basic needs and rights in prison (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:13).
Pray for freedom of speech and expression in Saudi Arabia. Pray for the end of the death penalty and other inhuman acts against the right to live (The Holy Bible, Judges 2:18).
Pray for the nation of Saudi Arabia to experience a real transformation through the acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. May the Truth bring reformation, healing, peace, and Salvation to this country (The Holy Bible, John 8:32).
