Human Rights Watch (HRW) has criticized the European Union for helping Libyan forces send back more than 3,800 migrants to Libya over the past three months. During this time, at least 400 people have died or disappeared while trying to cross the sea. Judith Sunderland from HRW called the EU’s actions “appalling” and urged them to restart proper search and rescue missions. She emphasized the need for safe places for migrants to land to prevent more deaths.
- Father, we pray for the lives of the migrants for risking their lives on dangerous journeys. Please protect and guide them (The Holy Bible, Psalm 146:9)
- Father, we pray for the leaders in Libya and the EU and give them wisdom and compassion towards the migrants and treat them as a human and help them those in need (The Holy Bible, Galatians 6:2)
