China: The health of mothers and children serves as a crucial indicator of a nation’s overall well-being and social development. In China, a coordinated effort aimed at improving infrastructure and implementing policy innovations has emerged to enhance maternal and child health.
A significant part of China’s approach is the modernization of maternal healthcare facilities. The idea of “maternal-friendly hospitals” is becoming increasingly popular, providing integrated services to simplify care for pregnant women.
In cities like Beijing and Nanjing, “one-stop” clinics have been established. These centers enable women to complete all necessary processes—from registration and examinations to consultations and payments—in one location, greatly improving convenience and removing the need to visit multiple departments. The Beijing Maternal and Child Health Hospital exemplifies this transformation. Its multidisciplinary intensive care unit, staffed by obstetricians and critical care specialists, is equipped to manage complicated pregnancies that may involve issues such as cardiac problems or organ failure.
- Father, we ask in Your name for the success of policies and programs aimed at protecting maternal and child health in China. We pray for effective use of all the resources (The Holy Bible, Psalms 127:3).
- Father, we ask You for the well-being of families in China. May they be strong and supportive of each other and nurture each other as a family together. Pray for the protection of mothers and children who are at risk, including those affected by poverty and natural disasters (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 66:13).
