Tensions between Cambodia and Thailand have started again after a Cambodian soldier was killed in a clash at the Emerald Triangle, a border area shared with Laos. Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said the country wants to solve the border problem peacefully and plans to take the issue to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), even if Thailand does not agree. The border conflict is linked to old maps made during the French colonial period. Cambodia believes that small extremist groups are making the situation worse and says it wants to solve the problem through peaceful talks. Thailand has agreed to meet with Cambodia soon through a Joint Boundary Committee to help reduce tensions.
Abba Father, bring peace to Cambodia and Thailand. Let Your hand stop every plan of violence, and may the borders between these nations be marked by justice, respect, and reconciliation (The Bible, Psalm 46:9).
Lord, bless the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand with wisdom. May their decisions be driven by peace and compassion, not pride or pressure. Protect the people and guide every negotiation toward unity (The Bible, Psalm 119:34).
