Over 80 Afghan women, who fled the Taliban to pursue higher education in Oman, now face imminent return to Afghanistan after their scholarships were abruptly terminated. These women were pursuing graduate and post-graduate courses under the Women’s Scholarship Endowment (WSE), a USAID program that started in 2018. It provided scholarships for Afghan women to study Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) -the disciplines banned for women by the Taliban in their homeland. They fear severe consequences upon returning, including losing their education, being forced into marriage, or facing personal risk due to past activism. They urgently beseech the international community for protection, financial support, and safe resettlement to continue their studies.

Father GOD, protect the Afghan women who face termination of education and immediate return to their homeland. We pray for opportunities to continue their education without hindrance (The Holy Bible, Psalm 62:8).

Almighty GOD, deliver the women in Afghanistan from oppression and bless them with a bright future (The Holy Bible, Psalm 9:12).
