MYANMAR: The Trump administration decided to end temporary asylum protections for almost 10,000 people from Myanmar living in the United States. The Trump administration is revoking the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) that was granted to these individuals in 2021, despite Myanmar still being governed by a military regime known for its harsh actions and human rights violations. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared this news, stating that after reviewing the current situation, they believe Myanmar no longer deserves this status. This change will go into effect in 60 days.
- Pray that God will protect the nearly 10,000 Myanmar nationals in the U.S. who may face fear, instability, and uncertainty because of the loss of TPS. Ask for divine mercy, comfort, and provision as they face decisions about their future (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
- Pray that U.S. leaders and decision-makers will act with righteousness, wisdom, and compassion regarding immigration and humanitarian protections. Pray that God will touch their hearts to consider justice and moral responsibility toward those fleeing oppression (The Holy Bible, Micah 6:8).
