Almost all Muslim countries are closed to traditional missionaries. Some individuals and ministries have made it their ministry to send people to these same countries to do secular work. That gives them the chance to interface with local people and allows Muslims to see Christian character in action. Active Christians make disciples and bring the light of Christ to the workplace.

Business as mission offers excellent advantages for Muslim Background Believers (MBBs) as well. When local Christians are able to start their own businesses, they can sustain themselves without the usual threat of being fired. If they run their businesses according to honest Christian principles, they can show their Muslim neighbors a better way to live. If they are truthful, Christian-run businesses also attract Muslim customers who are tired of dealing with dishonest businesses.

This is the situation in Tunisia, a predominantly Muslim country in North Africa. There is a team of Christians training Christian entrepreneurs how to run a successful and honest business. These businesses are attracting a steady stream of new customers.

Let Us Pray Fervently for:

  • Pray for the continued success of these businesses and that they will honor God with their daily business practices (The Bible, Joshua 1:7).
  • Pray for Tunisian Christians to infuse the loving culture of God’s Kingdom in the workplace, making it a sanctuary for those who seek peace and honesty (1 Thessalonians 4:11).
  • Pray for these businesses to lead to discipleship opportunities (The Bible, Luke 14:25-27).
