KUWAIT: Kuwait has launched a serious campaign against drugs, successfully reducing trafficking by 90 percent in the past year, announced First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah. He mentioned that the cost of narcotic pills has increased to seven or eight times more than it was last year due to their scarcity from the crackdown. Sheikh Fahad expressed gratitude to the general department for drug control for their work in stopping drug smuggling and breaking up drug-dealing networks. He praised Kuwait’s progress in combating drugs and helping those with addiction issues. He pointed out that these successes result from the hard work of state security and health organizations. Additionally, he shared that the interior ministry received two Arab awards recognizing its achievements in battling drug trafficking. He also thanked parents, teachers, and staff for their role in reporting addiction cases and supporting treatment efforts.

  • Lord, we pray that God will continue to grant Kuwait’s leaders, law enforcement, and health authorities divine wisdom, strength, and discernment to uphold justice and maintain progress in the fight against drugs. Ask that every attempt to reintroduce trafficking be exposed and defeated (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 2:7).
  • Lord, we pray for individuals and families affected by addiction—that God’s healing power will bring restoration, deliverance, and hope. Ask that rehabilitation and support programs continue to grow, showing God’s love and mercy to those in need (The Holy Bible, Psalm 147:3).
