A huge landslide in western Sudan’s Marra mountains killed over 1,000 people, leaving only one survivor, said the rebel group Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM), which controls the area. The village of Tarasin was destroyed after heavy rain. The SLM asked the UN and aid groups for help to recover bodies. The UN said 300 to 1,000 may have died and is working to support survivors. This is one of Sudan’s worst natural disasters recently. Sudan is also facing a civil war that started three years ago, causing a big humanitarian crisis. Fighting between the army and paramilitary groups continues in Darfur, making it hard for aid to reach many areas, including where the landslide happened. Leaders called for urgent help and peace so that aid can reach people in need. The war has caused many deaths, displacements, and serious human rights abuses, with investigations ongoing for war crimes.

Pray for the rescue, relief efforts, and aid to reach the victims of heavy rain in Sudan at the right time. Pray for divine protection upon all the civilians, especially children, from natural calamities and war (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:8).

Pray for the LORD’s comfort for the families of the deceased victims in Sudan. Pray for the LORD’s healing power upon all the injured victims (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 57:18).

Pray for divine protection and provision for all the victims of heavy rain and war in Sudan. Pray for them to have immediate access to food, shelter, and other basic needs (The Holy Bible, Lamentations 3:56).
