WEST BANK: Israel has officially approved a debated settlement project in the occupied West Bank that would divide the area into two. Palestinians and human rights organizations argue that this could ruin hopes for establishing a future Palestinian state. As Israel continues to expand settlements, life is becoming harder for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, especially with the global focus shifting to the war in Gaza. There has been a noticeable rise in settler attacks on Palestinians, forced removals from Palestinian neighborhoods, and checkpoints that restrict movement. Additionally, there have been various Palestinian attacks on Israelis.
