In 1948, Kim Il-sung established a totalitarian regime in North Korea, prioritizing the “Juche” ideology of self-reliance and the cult of personality. After he died in 1994, his son Kim Jong-il took power, continuing the authoritarian control of the regime. After his death, Kim Jong-un, the present leader of the country, succeeded him in 2011, pursuing nuclear weapons, military expansion, and a repressive regime. For over seventy years, North Korea has been under the rule of only one family and remains extremely secretive, heightened in human rights abuses and tensions with the international community.
Abba Father, just as Your servant Daniel, who prayed for the deliverance of his people after 70 years of captivity, we plead for Your Mercy upon this nation to deliver the country from the oppressive regime. Break every chain of oppression, Oh LORD! Bring hope and healing to the North Korean people (The Holy Bible, Daniel 9:9).
Sovereign GOD, restore the true freedom and justice to all the people in North Korea. Let Your Will be done in the nation, for nothing is impossible with You, LORD! (The Holy Bible, Mark 10:27).
