CAMBODIA: At the 48th ASEAN Summit in Cebu City, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. held a trilateral meeting with Anutin Charnvirakul and Hun Manet to promote peace between Thailand and Cambodia amid ongoing border tensions. The conflict, rooted in disputes surrounding the ancient Preah Vihear Temple, has caused many deaths and displaced thousands since May 2025. Marcos stated that both nations agreed to maintain open communication, avoid escalating tensions, and continue peaceful dialogue. The leaders also instructed their foreign ministries to work toward rebuilding trust and strengthening regional unity in the spirit of ASEAN solidarity.
Heavenly Father, bring peace between Thailand and Cambodia. Remove hatred, violence, and fear, and guide their leaders toward wisdom and reconciliation. Let unity and compassion prevail among the people. Amen (The Holy Bible, Matthew 5:9).
Lord, strengthen the spirit of cooperation and unity among ASEAN nations. May countries work together in peace, respect, and mutual understanding for the good of all people. Amen (The Holy Bible, Ephesians 4:3).
