Libya’s Interior Minister has stated that the country is now home to over 4 million undocumented migrants. He emphasized that Libya cannot handle this burden alone, as economic and security challenges continue to grow. Without better controls, he warned, the continued flow of immigrants without controls will lead to the deterioration of security and social conditions, not just in Libya but across the entire region.
