A steep increase drug trafficking is observed in Bhutan; which can potentially harm the society and security. The forbidden drugs smuggled are heroin and brown sugar. The crisis is on the rise as twenty cases in a year has been booked by the Royal Bhutan Police. Public safety and people’s health are threatened as Bhutan is used as a point of transiting the drugs to the international drug peddling mafia. The cost of these drugs are high and that can lead to hike in crime by the addicts to get money by wrong means. Bhutan is struggling to curb the culprits for lack of resources. Immediate action is needed to prevent the devastating impact on families, communities, and the nation’s stability.
Abba Father, we pray for Bhutan’s law enforcement and government to have wisdom and strength in combating drug trafficking and keeping communities safe. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Bible, Psalm 9:9).
Lord , we declare healing and restoration to those suffering from drug addiction, and for families to find hope and support. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Bible, Psalm, 147:3).
