Recent incidents at the Bangladesh–India border, including the deaths of Bangladeshi civilians in Lalmonirhat and Brahmanbaria, show that border killings by India’s BSF continue regularly. Data from Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) states that dozens of Bangladeshis have been killed each year, with 285 civilians shot dead between 2014 and early 2026. The report also notes that several children were among the victims. The BNP government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had earlier promised stronger action to stop such killings and criticized previous governments, especially the Awami League, for failing to address the issue effectively.
Abba Father, bring peace where there is fear, violence, and division. Protect innocent lives and soften the hearts of leaders and authorities so justice and mercy may prevail. Amen (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 1:17).
Lord, remove hatred, suspicion, and fear between peoples. Help neighboring nations treat one another with dignity, compassion, and understanding. Amen (The Holy Bible, Luke 6:31).
