IRAQ: The dominant parliamentary bloc in Iraq, known as the Coordination Framework, has nominated Ali al-Zaidi as the country’s next prime minister. This decision followed weeks of internal negotiations to find a compromise candidate. Nizar Amidi officially tasked al-Zaidi with forming a government, though parliamentary approval is still uncertain as 167 votes are required. The bloc had earlier considered backing Nouri al-Maliki, but opposition from Donald Trump influenced the shift toward al-Zaidi. As a political newcomer with a business background, al-Zaidi has pledged to bring balance to Iraq’s regional and international relations during this sensitive period.
Abba Father, we declare peace and stability over Iraq. Let unity rise above division and bring lasting harmony. Lord, we declare that righteousness and integrity will shape the government and its actions. Amen (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 29:2).
Lord, we declare Your guidance over every step in forming the government, that Your will be done. Amen (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 3:5–6).
