The Employees Provident Fund reported that 2,257 company directors were barred from leaving Malaysia in 2025 for failing to pay employee contributions to the fund. According to Sazaliza Zainuddin, the EPF’s chief operations officer, their names were submitted to the Immigration Department of Malaysia under the Employees Provident Fund Act 1991. This brings the total number of company directors banned from traveling abroad for the same offense to 14,332 as of December 2025. The EPF also filed 3,530 civil cases and initiated 6,011 criminal actions against employers who failed to remit employees’ contributions. During the year, the EPF resolved 8,868 cases of contribution arrears from 21,029 employee complaints, while 12,161 cases remain under investigation or pending legal action. Authorities stressed that timely contributions are essential to protect workers’ retirement savings and ensure long-term financial security.

Abba Father, we pray for fairness and justice in workplaces. May workers receive what is rightfully theirs, and may honesty guide employers in all their dealings. Lord, we pray that workers’ efforts will be rewarded and their retirement savings protected, giving them security and peace for the future. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 33:5).

Lord, grant wisdom to those enforcing the law so they may protect workers’ rights and promote justice in society. Amen (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 2:6).
