EGYPT: Since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, Egypt has led the largest and longest-running humanitarian relief effort for the region. They have worked closely with the United Nations and other international partners, even while facing ongoing restrictions and security issues. Egypt has delivered about 70 percent of all aid sent to Gaza since the conflict started, using the ERC, which is their national system for providing relief. This operation depends on a vast logistics network and a volunteer group of more than 35,000 people. Egypt has allowed 214 ambulances to enter Gaza, provided nearly 91,000 tons of fuel to keep hospitals and essential services running, and helped set up four field hospitals within Gaza. The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is still critical due to harsh winter weather and continuous conflict pressures, according to aid agencies and local sources.
- Pray for God’s protection, strength, and wisdom over Egyptian volunteers, medical teams, and aid workers who are serving under dangerous and exhausting conditions. Ask the Lord to sustain them physically and emotionally as they bring life-saving help to those in need (The Holy Bible, Psalm 145:20).
- Pray that God will have mercy on the people of Gaza, providing warmth, healing, food, fuel, and medical care amid winter hardship and ongoing conflict. Ask for an end to violence and for peace to prevail so humanitarian aid can reach all who are suffering (The Holy Bible, Psalms 8:4).
